Show yourself! Kompany calls on man who chose to sack Palace manager Vieira to 'come forward'

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has slammed Crystal Palace over the sacking of Patrick Vieira.

Vieira was axed on Friday morning by Palace.

Kompany said: "I simply do not understand the dismissal.

"If you underperform in your job, it is fair enough for the club to make a decision to end the partnership, but if you overperform, which Palace do, the person who makes the decision should come forward, because he has removed a head coach, who have overachieved.

"I had expected Palace to be at the bottom of the table with three to five points up on the others.

"I can see that they are in 12th place and are three points from the relegation zone.

"From my rational point of view, Crystal Palace should be happy not to be in the relegation zone with the team they have assembled.

"Then I heard about the match schedule Palace has been through. They have faced Newcastle, Chelsea, United twice, in-form Brentford and Brighton. Furthermore, Wilfried Zaha has been out in several of those matches..."
