Reading fullback Nicky Shorey has confirmed he hopes to sign a new contract.
Shorey is set to snub West Ham and sign a new deal at Reading that will make him the highest-paid player at the Berkshire club.
The Royals turned down Alan Curbishley's £4million offer last summer and are determined to hang on to the England left-back by offering him a bumper £25,000-a-week contract.
Shorey, 26, said: "I'm hopeful we can come to an agreement."
