Shola Shoretire started for Manchester United U23s in yesterday's 0-0 draw with Brighton.
United captain Will Fish was sent off for a clumsy foul with the game barely ticking over but Neil Wood's players regrouped to hold out for the point.
Shoretire was eventually substituted in the second-half for Dillon Hoogewerf. Within seconds of taking the field, the Dutch youngster had gone agonisingly close to putting United in front with a shot that was well saved.
Then just seconds from the end, Charlie McCann was within a fraction of connecting with a Joe Hugill pass.
Max Taylor featured at the back for United after trials with Portsmouth.
