Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina has been hit by a British record speeding fine.
The Sun reports the 25-year-old was hit with the £96,000 fine on Monday after failing to tell police on three occasions whether it was him behind the wheel when his Mercedes-AMG GLA45 was clocked for speeding.
Gabon international Lemina said he did not know whether it was his brother or cousin, both staying with him at the time, driving the £50,000 car.
He admitted three counts of failing to notify police after ignoring their letters.
Lemina received 18 points on top of the 21 he already had on his non-UK licence, adding up to a year's driving ban.
The fine of £96,000 is three times his weekly salary at the Premier League club, but it could have risen to £144,000 had he denied he was driving at the time.
