Shocker: Barcelona star Messi 2 years without El Clasico goal; worst run in 6 years

Barcelona star Lionel Messi drew another El Clasico blank for defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday.

Real went to the Nou Camp as underdogs but came away with the three points after a controversial 3-1 triumph.

On the day, Messi didn't get on the scoresheet and has now failed to score against Real Madrid in each of his last seven games against their eternal rivals.

Ansu Fati scored Barcelona's lone goal on the day.

Messi's last goal against Real Madrid was during the 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp late into the 2017/18 LaLiga Santander season. That means the Argentine is yet to score against Real Madrid since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo for Juventus.

The Argentine is struggling for form this season. Messi has scored just one goal in LaLiga - during Barcelona's opening game against Villarreal.

Since that that opening day match, the Barca captain has failed to score or make an assist in four league matches. Messi hasn't experienced such a poor run since 2014.
