Shimizu S-Pulse midfielder Daigo Kobayashi is being targeted by Vancouver Whitecaps according to Sponichi Annex.
The 29-year old will reportedly hold final talks with the Whitecaps this week before signing a contract with the MLS club.
Kobayashi is likely to replace Barry Robson, who departed the club this week, by slotting into the number 10 role behind the strikers.
The one-time capped Japan international has previously played with such clubs as Tokyo Verdy, Omiya Ardija, Stabaek and Iraklis Thessaloniki.
