Sheyi Ojo's brace handed the Liverpool U21s a dramatic victory over Middlesbrough at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium on Thursday night.
Liverpool claimed a 2-1 victory over Boro and Ojo was the star of the game for the Reds after he scored two goals, including a dramatic stoppage time winner.
First team members Jon Flanagan, Tiago Ilori, Jose Enrique and Adam Bogdan also featured for Liverpool during the clash.
Captain Cameron Brannagan was sent off on 34 minutes for a foul on Jordan Jones before Boro made it 1-0 through Arnel Jakupovic's ensuing free-kick.
However, 18-year-old Ojo responded by cutting in from the left to curl home eight minutes into the second half before coming up with a very late winner after he was brought down in the area.
Winger Ojo dusted himself off to calmly slot home from 12 yards to give Michael Beale's side a hard-fought come-from-behind win.
Beale told Liverpoolfc.com: "I am absolutely delighted for the boys because we deserved the victory.
"I thought the sending off of Cameron was really harsh but credit to the players because we really stepped it up in the second half and showed fantastic character.
"Sheyi scored a great goal to get us level and then put away the penalty."
