Shevchenko blames Mourinho, injuries for Chelsea failure

Dynamo Kyiv striker Andriy Shevchenko has laid blame on Jose Mourinho as well as a bout of injuries for his failure to deliver at Chelsea.

The Ukraine international was brought to Stamford Bridge for just over £30million from AC Milan bat failed to live up to expectations and has pointed the finger at former boss Mourinho for neglecting him at times.

"Jose Mourinho was a great organiser, his attention to detail before matches was incredible, but maybe he needs to speak more with the players," Shevchenko said.

"The injuries was the main reason why my career in England was not viewed as a success. The Chelsea fans never really saw the real Shevchenko on the pitch.

"English club football is more physical and fast whereas Italian football is more about the technical side of the game.

"I have returned to Dynamo Kiev and will make people see that I still have a career in front of me. I have to forget the times at Chelsea when I didn't play.

"I have left Milan and Chelsea for a new objective and I prefer to speak and think about the future rather than the past."
