Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey would be happy to sign a new contract at the club.
The central midfielder helped his side to a 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the weekend.
He spoke to the club programme before the game about being settled in Tyneside and hoped that he could extend his deal, which expires in 2021.
Shelvey, who has been with the club since 2016, said: "At the end of the day, I'm playing for a new contract now.
"I want to stay here, and hopefully a contract will be sorted.
"The kids love it up here – they've got their friends here."
