Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko believes that club's new signing Jonjo Shelvey can be their very own version of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
The 23-year-old produced a man of the match display on debut in Saturday's 2-1 win over West Ham United after completing his £12million move from Swansea last week.
Two brilliant passes from Shelvey resulted in goals for the Magpies and his influence on the game was very Gerrard-like according to Sissoko.
"He's a really good signing for us," said Sissoko.
"His style is very similar to Steven Gerrard's because he can play the long ball so easily.
"He gave a fantastic pass to Daryl for Gini's goal, and I am sure both he and Henri Saivet will help us for the rest of the season."
