Wednesday, who lost 1-0 to Hull in the final last season, will host Huddersfield in the second leg of their playoff semi-final at Hillsborough on Wednesday night.
Both sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the tie at John Smith's Stadium.
The right-back said: "The hurt from last year is still inside us and we want to put that out of our minds.
"But it's hard when deep down we are still hurting and we don't want to experience that pain again.
"To lose in a play-off final is not nice for anybody and a lot of the lads who played against Hull will be playing on Wednesday night.
"We are very determined and it would be amazing to be the team who got Sheffield Wednesday back to the Premier League. We would go down as legends."
