Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws was always confident Marcus Tudgay would resist interest from Burnley.
Tudgay has snubbed a move to Premier LeagueBurnley by signing a new four-year contract at Sheffield Wednesday.
"I always felt confident that he would sign," said Owls boss Brian Laws, speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield.
"We are delighted he's decided to stay with us. He didn't want to start the season with that uncertainty."
