Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray is keen to re-sign Sunderland striker Connor Wickham.
The striker has been recalled by Sunderland from his loan at Leeds United and Gray is targeting the centre-forward for the summer market.
"Leeds will be disappointed at Connor getting called back," Gray told the Sheffield Star. "But he's had minutes of football rather than just training.
"It's probably not worked out for him at Leeds as he would have liked. Your problem when you have players on loan is that they can be called back. He did an excellent job for us. I was gutted and disappointed, and so was he, that we couldn't get him back here.
"Sometimes players just fit into the right system and the right club. He got eight goals in 11 games for us, which was a fantastic return.
"You never know, hopefully we can work together again."
