Sheffield United have handed trials to Manchester United youngster Charlie Scott.
The Manchester Evening News says he 20-year-old started for The Blades' Under-23 side in their 3-0 Premier League Cup defeat at Aston Villa on Thursday night ahead of a possible switch to the Championship club. Stoke-born Scott had a trial with Brentford last year but eventually signed a United extension in the summer.
Scott has started five of the last six United U23 matches but could become the latest to leave this month after James Wilson and Demetri Mitchell joined Sheffield United and Hearts on loan for the rest of the season earlier this week.
United recently brought a number of Under-18s into the U23 coach Ricky Sbragia's set-up in anticipation of some second-string regulars leaving.
