Sheffield United are interested in Reading midfielder John Swift.

The Daily Mail says Blades boss Chris Wilder is hoping to add to his midfield options when the transfer window reopens and has identified former Chelsea youngster Swift as a target.

The 25 year-old has been a regular performer for Reading this season, scoring five times and setting up 10 more in 35 Championship appearances.

His current contract Royals expires in 2022. Swift came through the ranks at Chelsea before leaving in 2016 after making one league appearance for the club, in May 2014 at Cardiff.

He was snapped up Reading and has gone on to make almost 150 appearances for the Berkshire club.
