Sheffield Utd owner Prince Abdullah in talks to buy Châteauroux

Sheffield United owner Prince Abdullah is in talks to buy French club La Berrichonne de Châteauroux.

The Examiner says as well as Sheffield United, Prince Abdullah also owns Al Hilal United FC and Kerala United FC, as well as being the majority shareholder in Belgium side Beerschot.

All fall under the umbrella of United World and it is being reported that the 55-year-old is keen to add a fifth club to his stable.

La Nouvelle République reports Châteauroux are planning on holding a General Assembly on December 23 to discuss his proposal,

There will be a presentation from the Sheffield United owner's company, United World Group, that will detail his intentions with the French side after 'he came knocking at their door in autumn'.

Originally turned away, he has returned with a second offer that is understood to have been looked upon more favourably.
