Sheffield Utd owner Prince Abdullah can't guarantee Berge staying

Sheffield United owner Prince Abdullah admits he can't guarantee keeping Sander Berge this summer.

After being asked if there are plans to sell players, in particular Berge, Prince Abdullah admitted he cannot promise there will be no sales due to clauses in some players' contracts, but made a vow to replace anybody that leaves.

"Some of the players have a clause in their contracts that if they have a certain offer they can leave," he said. "This is something we cannot do anything about.

"But I can assure you that our first purpose is to get back to the Premier League.

"If you look at the teams below us, who are the teams leading the Championship? Norwich and Watford. And Bournemouth are not far away.

"So we keep the core of the team, but if we get an offer to sell a player and don't have a replacement we will bring in a replacement.

"We are not only selling players. If we sell players, we will bring players in.

"But our intention is to keep the core players and get back to the Premier League.

"Staying in the Championship will not make us any money and is not the right place for the club."
