Sheffield United midfielder Ben Osborn was happy with victory over Brighton.
David McGoldrick struck the only goal of the game for the relegated Blades.
Osborn said: "It's nice to put the bad run to an end. We were always fairly confident we'd get first goal - something we've struggled to do this season. We thought we could frustrate them the longer game went on because they do like to play nice football.
"The gaffer has come in during tough times and the way he has handled it I'm buzzing for him. We need to get our performances right and go into next season with momentum and a spring in our step."
