Sheffield Utd make Berge sale decision amid Liverpool, Arsenal interest

Sheffield United will only sell Sander Berge for big money this summer.

The Examiner says he has already been linked with interest from Aston Villa, Liverpool and Arsenal ahead of United's impending relegation to the Championship.

However, reports United want their money back for the Norwegian international and that they are looking to recoup the £22.5m they paid Genk for his signature last year are wide of the mark.

United will reject any offer of this nature for the 23-year-old and will only sell if a bid received is substantially more than this.

Their plan for next season involves keeping the core of the team at the club as they bid for an instant return to the Premier League and will only allow anyone to leave if the fee meets a certain expectation.

The feeling with Berge is that a season in the Championship will increase his value further as he is expected to dominate the division.
