Sheffield United are in no danger of losing Ethan Ampadu back to Chelsea before next week's deadline.
The Examiner says Ampadu will not be recalled from his loan spell at Sheffield United following the sacking of Frank Lampard yesterday.
The 20-year-old arrived at Bramall Lane in the summer on a season-long deal that was sanctioned by the outgoing Chelsea boss.
It was Lampard who encouraged the Welsh international to team up with United, recommending Chris Wilder and Bramall Lane as a good place to take the next step in his development.
Wilder has seen his team selection this season hit by a never-ending injury list and Ampadu has filled in along the defensive line, as well as in holding midfield.
He has made 16 appearances in all competitions.
