Sheffield United are favourites to sign Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn.

The Liverpool Echo says Woodburn is close to agreeing a season-long loan move to Championship side Sheffield United.

Woodburn was omitted from the Reds squad that flew out on Monday for their week-long training camp in Evian.

Instead, the 18-year-old midfielder will undergo a medical on Tuesday before completing a temporary switch to Bramall Lane.

Aston Villa were also keen on securing Woodburn's services for the 2018-19 campaign, with Liverpool having already rejected a loan offer from Wigan Athletic.
