Sheffield Utd, Crystal Palace battling for Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster

Sheffield United and Crystal Palace are battling for Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster.

Sky Sports says both have held talks with Liverpool over a potential permanent transfer, but there seems some reluctance from the Reds' side to let him leave.

On the one hand, with the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi already at the club his game-time looks set to be limited again this season, which would come as a big frustration for Brewster.

But on the other hand, there is a risk that if Liverpool let him go they will live to regret it if he goes on to fulfill his undoubted potential and become an accomplished Premier League striker for another club.

One potential option is for Liverpool to insist on a buy-back clause for the player, but it remains to be seen if any of Brewster's prospective teams would be willing to do so.
