Ben Woodburn is set to feature for Liverpool U23 against Everton - despite being on-loan at Sheffield United.
The Reds have chosen to recall the Wales international for the Premier League 2 fixture at Goodison Park because the 19-year-old has made only one substitute appearance in the Championship since mid-September.
The Daily Mail says a period in Sheffield was meant to give him the experience of regular first-team games in order to then challenge for a place in Jurgen Klopp's side, but he has made just two starts all season leading to growing frustration on all sides.
Woodburn has previously made one appearance for Liverpool's under-23s in PL2 against Derby County last month.
