Sheffield Utd boss Heckingbottom expects players to 'fight' for derby win against Leeds

Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom says the players will be up for Saturday's derby against Leeds United.

The Blades have nine games remaining this season, starting with the Yorkshire derby against Leeds, and Heckingbottom says his players will "fight" until the end.

"We know the task, we know the reality of the situation," said the interim boss.

"We have to keep fighting. It's a case of looking forward.

"It's about producing and building things the club can take forward with them to be successful.

"It's a Yorkshire derby. Do we need any added spice for these games?

"It's going to be tough. You have to stand up, enjoy the man to man nature of the game and look to come out on top."

Sheffield United are rooted to the foot of the table and 14 points from safety, but Heckingbottom says the players have been "fantastic" since he has replaced Chris Wilder.

"They've had time to process everything that's gone on and then refocus," said Heckingbottom.

"It's about everyone pushing and pushing, for the club and for the fans. These are a big few games and a big few weeks."
