Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge admits he made the most of the UK's coronavirus lockdown.
A January arrival from Genk, Berge recognised he wasn't strong enough to compete with rival midfielders.
"The shutdown was a tough time for everyone, but I saw it as an opportunity to improve my physical level," he told the Guardian.
"As a football player, you never really have the opportunity to improve your physical level because you are always on the move for 11 months a year if you play for the national team.
"I had trouble playing 60 minutes, but last week I played 90 minutes twice. When you can handle that intensity, you can bring more quality to the field.
"In the first matches I thought too much. When you just run around, you sometimes find that you are positioned incorrectly, and then you think, 'What do I contribute to the team?'".
"Now I'm more comfortable, asking for the ball and just being myself."
