Blackpool boss Ian Holloway watched Sheffield Wednesday striker Marcus Tuday in action at Scunthorpe on Tuesday with a view to making an offer. Holloway missed the Seasiders' Carling Cup defeat to MK Dons so that he could go on a scouting mission to Scunthorpe.
Holloway has been frustrated in his attempts to bring in a new striker missing out on several targets this summer.
Blackpool have held a long-term interest in the 27 year old and are understood to have had one bid already rejected for the former Derby man this summer.
Wednesday are keen to keep hold of Tudgay, but they could find it hard to reject a sizeable offer for the hitman.
