England legend Alan Shearer believes Phil Foden is one of the first names of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City team-sheet.

The playmaker started as a false-nine and scored two goals in 4-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.

And Shearer believes the 21-year-old has become an invaluable member of Guardiola's team.

Speaking on BBC Sport, Shearer said: "Foden is fast becoming the first name on Manchester City's team sheet - and that takes some doing.

"Two goals and an assist in a 4-1 triumph. Brighton couldn't handle him."
