Shaw: Southampton squad buzzing over England call-ups

Southampton fullback Luke Shaw admits the squad is proud of their multiple England call ups.

Shaw joins team-mates Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez in the 30-man squad, which will convene at the Grove hotel in Hertfordshire on Sunday evening.

This is the first time Southampton have ever had four players in the senior squad, with a total of 10 called up for England duty across the age groups.

"The dressing room is buzzing," Shaw, with Saints since the age of eight, said.

"I think everyone knows what our academy is about. It is about producing young players that come through the academy and we can keep on doing that.

"Obviously we have four with the under-19s, Prowsey (James Ward-Prowse) with the under-21s and young Simsy (Josh Sims) who has been doing very well away with the under-17s.

"I think it is great for the club and great for the fans to see young players like us coming through."
