Sevilla sports chief Monchi has refused to snap back at AS Roma president James Pallotta.

Pallotta in the past day has confirmed some parts of the expose in La Repubblica about Daniele De Rossi's turbulent exit were true - and blamed Monchi for “lying" to the captain and failing in the transfer market.

“Monchi asked for 100 per cent control and trust as our sporting director. I look back almost daily on our summer transfer market and maybe I shouldn't have given up all that control."

Monchi, however, responded through RomaPress.net: “I don't want to respond to Jim. It's better for everyone that we move forward."
