Sevilla have jumped into the battle for Chelsea fullback Marcos Alonso.
Estadio Deportivo reports Sevilla have little funds to spend with other areas of the squad also requiring strengthening, but still harbour hopes of attracting Alonso.
Director of Football Monchi is said to be monitoring the left-back's situation and hopes the promise of regular game time in the Champions League could sweeten a deal.
The report also suggests Sevilla have a secret weapon in the form of Alonso's father, who played for Sevilla from January 1999 to March 2000.
Alonso Snr wants to see his son pull on the Sevilla shirt and could theoretically exert pressure on the player to make the move back to Spain.
The ideal scenario for Sevilla would be a loan with an option to buy as they are currently unable to compete with their European rivals in a bidding war.
