Sevilla are expecting an offer from Manchester City for Jules Kounde.

Marca says City failed with an opening offer for the 22-year-old defender, but they haven't given up on securing his services just yet.

Pep Guardiola has become a big fan of the Frenchman and how he plays, so he doesn't want to let the opportunity to sign him pass him by.

City have the money to pay for Kounde's transfer fee and are the only contenders for his signature - it's just about convincing Sevilla to let him go.

Kounde has a release clause of 80 million euros at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, which City won't match.

Their first offer of 50 million euros plus five million in add-ons is expected to rise the second time around - and this time Sevilla could find it hard to say no.
