Sevilla director Monchi contacts Arsenal about Pepe transfer

Arsenal may have a chance to offload Nicolas Pepe in the summer transfer window.

The winger has flattered to deceive since signing for a club-record £72million in July 2019 from Lille.

Pepe has two years remaining on his contract, but the 26-year-old is far from certain to stay this summer.

Arsenal are willing to sell him for a modest £25 million, as they look to bring in more players that manager Mikel Arteta can use.

According to SuperDeporte, Sevilla chief Monchi has contacted Arsenal about Pepe's availability.

While Pepe has come up with a few notable goals and assists this term, he is far from a guaranteed starter.

Youngster Bukayo Saka is often preferred from the right wing, while Gabriel Martinelli or Emile Smith Rowe play off the left.
