Sevilla coach Pablo Machin was left frustrated after their Supercopa defeat to Barcelona in Tangiers.
Sevilla lost 2-1 with Wissam Ben Yeddar missing a late penalty and a chance to take the game into extra time.
Machin lamented afterwards: "There are many times that not only the result but the play, was a bit cruel. But we must draw the positive thing is that we had a clear plan of action, the one that we played this time.
"We showed that the team has a soul, spirit and courage, we have generated the penalty and more chances, we lose a title, but we are comforted by how we competed until the end, I cannot ask for more."
Machin also said: "I think that this time the players were closer to winning than in the Copa. If we scored the penalty, it would have given us wings and we were more complete than them.
"We had maybe more chances to win it than them, but (Marc-Andre) Ter Stegen saved the penalty and he did not give us that option."
