Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui admits they paid for a loose first-half in their Champions League defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
Sevilla lost 3-2 at home in the first-leg of their round 16 tie last night.
Lopetegui later said: "We weren't able to protect [ourselves from] their transitions and lost the ball where they punish you and where it was avoidable. Errors happen and their quality punished us.
"But the second half I can take with me our mentality and attitude and the character and the job the team did. They practically didn't get a run [at us] and that's not easy, playing 3-1 down against Dortmund."
He continued: "The second half we corrected things. It was a difficult moment, you have to remember they have world-class players and playing with a lot of space and on the counter as they did in the second half with Haaland and Sancho and Reus was not easy [for us] but the team did really well. It took a great effort and it's a shame we didn't get the reward of the draw we deserved."
