Sevilla coach Lopetegui rues wayward finishing for Copenhagen draw

Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui says he was satisfied after their 0-0 draw at Champions League opponents FC Copenhagen.

Lopetegui, however, felt they could've won with better finishing.

He said, "It's our first point. We wanted three and the fact we didn't get them is down to our lack of precision. We had many chances, especially in the first half, and in the Champions League, in football generally, it's difficult if you lack that finishing touch.

"On the positive side we've got our first clean sheet of the season. It's a tough stadium with a powerful atmosphere and we had young players at the back and that's a positive too.

"We played with two 20-year-olds from the academy [Carmona and Kike Salas] and it's not easy, but they did a good job defensively along with the rest of the team. We faced the odd cross and free-kick, but I don't remember a clear opportunity. We had several chances – in the Champions League to create four or five clear chances is not easy and that's what we had.

"The team did a good job and now we have a double-header against Dortmund. There are 12 points to play for – the Dortmund games then the return to Copenhagen and the other game against City. Evidently the double-header against Dortmund is going to be very important.

"We need some players to lift their confidence and performance [levels]. We ended the game with players who aren't 100 per cent... We've lost important players and a lot of new players have arrived. A lot of them, as I've commented, aren't in the best form and we have to try to help them get going in the coming games."
