Sevilla sports chief Monchi concedes their Champions League elimination is a major setback.

Portuguese outfit Braga shocked Sevilla in their qualifier this week.

"It's a huge disappointment, a major setback and hard to take having looked forward to this since achieving fourth last season," Monchi said.

"It's not the end of a cycle. We are as alive as ever and we have the mindset to fight for important things when the campaign starts.

"He [Alvarez] assumes responsibility but that will not be analysed in public, it will be done in private."
