Sevilla boss Pablo Machin: We must minimise Lazio's strengths

Sevilla boss Pablo Machin says there can't be any underestimating Europa League opponents Lazio.

Machin insists the Aquile are a formidable opponent for Sevilla.

“Surely the games we've played so far this year are different to tomorrow's," he said at a Press conference.

“A good performance against Lazio will help the team grow in terms of confidence too. We're aware of our qualities and we'll continue on our way.

“Football is never predictable. Lazio and Sevilla are similar teams, even in the terms of playing style. I hope the final result is decided in the second leg.

“We'll strive to play in the best possible way, trying to minimise Lazio's strengths. Our objectives are to score at least one goal and keep our goal untouched.

“Having only a few hours to recover isn't ideal. Escudero is in some pain, but generally speaking we have several players who have little knocks.

“It's normal, our players must learn to live with these pains. Lazio? They're a complete team. Their football is attacking, their wingbacks aren't defenders.

Lazio's play goes through Luis Alberto, who has so much quality. We don't know if they'll play Immobile, but if not then they have Caicedo, who is known in Spain.

“He's a great striker. Then there's the pace of Correa. Rog? He's a great player. If not tomorrow then he'll certainly play in the return leg and I'm sure he'll help the team a lot.

“It'll depend on the circumstances."
