Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos would see himself replace by a Spanish defender.

Ramos insists he has no immediate plans for retirement, but does have a preference on who should succeed him.

"Once I stop, there are definitely players who want to take over," he told TUDN.

"There is always the opportunity to buy new players in the market - and also foreigners.

"However, I would say that I think Real Madrid should keep their Spanish base. We must not lose our identity."
