Real Madrid are set to offer Sergio Ramos a new, one year contract extension.
Ramos has been pushing for a longer deal, but Real are insisting he accept only a 12-month extension to a contract that runs to 2021.
Real are refusing to break their over-30 policy of not offering longer than one-year contracts, says AS, despite Ramos' demands.
Despite the captain's previous stance, there's a confidence he will now accept what Real have offered.
Discussing his contract situation, Ramos said recently: "We are going through a moment with the great club in all aspects, so there is no rush for anyone.
"Let's seek to reach an understanding regardless of what the club wants. I have never demanded two or three or four years. I understand that at a certain age they do it for a year. They are trying to create a distance with the club that does not exist.
"If the club wants to continue, here I will continue."
