Sergio Ramos frustrated as Real Madrid refuse to discuss new contract

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is finding himself in contract limbo.

With just over a year to run on his current deal, Ramos hasn't heard anything from Real president Florentino Perez about discussing a new arrangement.

Indeed, AS says Ramos' brother and agent Rene is yet to field any approach from Real about a new contract.

Inside the boardroom, Real would like to wait until next season before raising the subject, but the two sides are still not on the same page. Management plan to offer an additional year to the Spanish captain while the latter wants at least two.

From January Ramos, now 34, will be able to negotiate pre-contract terms with any foreign team - though his priority remains playing out his days as a Real Madrid player.
