Sergio Aguero: I'm staying with Man City to win Champions League

Sergio Aguero has set himself a target of winning the Champions League before he leaves Manchester City.

Aguero is understood to have signed a one-year extension to his contract, which will keep him at City until 2020 – although the club has yet to announce it, says the Manchester Evening News.

“I still have three years more here," he said. “I hope to achieve that at some point as it's really important for any player.

“Obviously the Champions League is not easy.

"There are a lot of fantastic teams as well. But my idea and the club's idea is the same - try to win this competition.

“We played really good, but there are other teams that are more candidates - Barcelona, Madrid or Bayern are the type of teams that are always there. We have been working and improving in the last three years.

“The club has signed new players and a new coach in order to keep improving and we are ready to achieve a Champions League final. I don't know if it is going to be this year, but we will try."
