Selles admits knowing Southampton signings Sulemana, Onuachu 'an advantage'

Southampton interim boss Ruben Selles revealed how playing against Kamaldeen Sulemana and Paul Onuachu gave him an advantage.

The duo have been starting since Selles took over from the sacked Nathan Jones.

Kamladeen and Onuachu played against Selles when he was an assistant at Copenhagen in Denmark.

“With Kamaldeen and Paul, I have an advantage," Selles insisted, per the Daily Echo.

“Paul played against my team in Denmark and Kamaldeen also scored against me a couple of times.

“It was an easy conversation to have with them about what we expect from them."

He continued: "With Nathan, in terms of being the person to have picked them up, I think they are incredible players that can make an impact in the Premier League. Just as much as Carlos (Alcaraz) or James (Bree) coming from Luton or Misalv (Orsic).

“It's not been difficult. It's been more task-related, telling them what we need from them and where we see them now and possibly in the future."
