The new A-League team in Melbourne is set to be announced today by Football Federation Australia.
Businessman Peter Sidwell presented the proposed team's financial backing to FFA officials and they were happy with the numbers.
It is expected the new franchise will be granted entry to the A-League for 2010/11 as its 11th club.
