MLS outfit Seattle Sounders have purchased Tanzanian club African Lyon.

An article in Tanzanian paper The Citizen said that Sounders owners would jet into Dar es Salaam on Friday to watch their new club take on Simba at Uhuru Stadium.

'According to an impeccable African Lyon insider, the majority owner of the American club, Paul Allen, would jet in aboard KLM accompanied by Sounders' scouting manager.

'The source said the officials will have talks with players before the match and later attend the official opening of the premiership at the stadium.

"Besides owning the club, they are planning to invest heavily in the country, hopefully, in a few months time, they will open several multimillion soccer projects," he said.
