Seattle Sounders co-owner Drew Carey has donated $50,000 to a devastated South Florida food bank.
The comedian, who owns the franchise with Joe Roth, Adrian Hanauer and Paul Allen, said he would donate the money if the Sounders defeated the Kansas City Wizards on the weekend and qualified for the MLS play-offs.
Following a tight 3-2 victory, Carey's promise was made true and his $50,000 donation will be well-received by Feeding South Florida, formerly known as The Daily Bread Food Bank.
Feeding South Florida distributes food to the needy throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties.
On October 8, a warehouse fire destroyed 93,000 pounds of food, which is the equivalent of 62,000 meals.
