SEASON SNAPSHOT: Failure for Everton after young guns threaten

Everton got nowhere near the heights expected of them in 2015/16.

A promising start saw them lose just three times in their opening 16 outings but things went downhill after the turn of the year.

The poor performances and negative results produced by the Toffees led to the sacking of Roberto Martinez prior to the final fixture of the campaign and they are now on the hunt to bring in a quality replacement.

Things were looking rosy under the Spaniard who had young guns Romelu Lukaku, John Stones, Ross Barkley and Gerard Deulofeu firing but the team's fall from grace just goes to show how fickle this sport can be.

Following the takeover of billionaire businessmen Farhad Moshiri, expect the incoming boss to have some cash to spend this summer as Everton swiftly look to get the train back on the tracks after a derailing in 2016.
