Scunthorpe United has confirmed on their official website that on-loan striker Tom Hopper has returned to his parent club Leicester City due to injury.
?Hopper, 21, is set to have a surgery on a broken toe sustained during the 4-1 win at Leyton Orient in January and will miss the rest of the season.
?"Unfortunately, he's not been able to overcome this injury," Iron boss Mark Robins said on the club site.
?"We gave him a rest and shut him down for three weeks in the hope that there would be a union in the bone and there hasn't been. We tried him (on Wednesday) and it is still no good.
?"It's disappointing because he's tried and he wanted to carry on and unfortunately that's not the case. We've lost him and it's a blow for us.
?"I'd like to thank him for what he's done while he's been with us. It's really unfortunate for him because he was someone who came in and led the line really well. He's also contributed some goals as well."
?Hopper scored four goals in 12 appearances for the League One Club since joining them in early January.?
