Manchester City midfielder Marc Laird is wanted by Championship surprise package Scunthorpe.

Irons boss Nigel Adkins made a check on the Scottish youngster in the reserves this week and is keen to take him on loan.

Blues boss Sven Goran Eriksson does not expect Laird to break into the team in the coming weeks and is happy to send him out on loan.
