Scottish record not at the forefront for Celtic's Forster

Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster insists he is not focusing too much on the all-time Scottish record for minutes without conceding a goal.

The English gloveman and his Hoops defence have not seen a ball hit the back of their net for 12 Scottish Premiership matches which has surpassed Charlie Shaw's 92-year old club record.

The next record in Celtic's sights is Aberdeen keeper Bobby Clark's 1,115 minutes without conceding set back in the 1970-71 season.

The Bhoys require just 31 minutes of further shutout action to become Scotland's most measly defence ever but Forster says it is not necessarily a record he is striving for.

"I've not really talked about the record at all," he told Celtic View.

"People have obviously mentioned to me in passing and it's nice that it's come along, but it only takes a deflection or a penalty then it's done. For me, it's nice but I haven't given it any real thought.

"It's not one of my goals mentally moving forward. When we do concede, it's nothing I will get disappointed about.

"…it's not something I have paid much attention to.

"I know what my aims are and I'm just focused on those and working hard on trying to reach them."
