Scott Sellars has been named new Head of Academy at Wolves.

The hugely experienced Sellars, who joined the club just under five years ago, began his time at Wolves Academy as under-23s head coach before taking up the role of head of player development in the summer.

“We are all delighted that Scott has this opportunity further enhance the great work he has carried out at Wolves Academy since he first arrived in 2014," sporting director Kevin Thelwell said.

“The level of applicants was very strong, but we felt Scott stood out as the best candidate and that it was right to give him this opportunity. Ultimately, we believe he is the best man for the job.

“During his time at the Academy, Scott has displayed the key Wolves values and showed real desire, in all the roles he has held, to produce and promote the highest quality of young players through the ranks at our club.

“We hope Scott will develop a programme that continues to place Wolves among the best academies in the country, as well as find new ways to improve further, all with the intention of supporting the club achieve success."
